Setting: Cesenatico and the Romagna Apennines, Italy – Barcelona, Spain
Italy, Cesenatico.
The film weaves together the stories of Andrea, Claudia, and Osvaldo, three cyclists taking on the Nove Colli, the world’s toughest and most famous Granfondo, turning it into a journey of resilience and transformation.
Andrea, a forty-year-old from Romagna with a mechanical aortic valve, pushes his physical limits and medical reports. Osvaldo, a former alcoholic from Costa Rica, has found redemption through cycling. Claudia, a young Spanish athlete with a prosthetic leg, challenges the concept of disability by racing against able-bodied cyclists. The three stories come together in Cesenatico lead by the voice of Daniele, a local bartender and living sports encyclopedia, who connects the past and present through stories and anecdotes.
